To promote the role that nature plays in supporting society to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the UK 25 Year Environment Plan.
Our charitable objectives
To promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public by:
(a) the preservation, conservation and the protection of the environment and the prudent use of resources;
(b) the relief of those in need because of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage and the improvement of the conditions of life in socially and economically disadvantaged communities;
(c) the promotion of sustainable means of regeneration.
To advance the education of the public in subjects relating to sustainable development and the protection, enhancement and rehabilitation of the environment, in particular but not exclusively in subjects related to land management, with a view to developing the capacities of local communities to identify and meet their own needs.
Sustainable development means “development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Our work will be guided and informed by our commitments to:
Inclusiveness: We respect people, value diversity and are committed to equality
Participation: We value and recognise the contributions of beneficiaries, volunteers, and the wider community
Quality: We strive for excellence through continuous improvement
Advancement: Our work will provide opportunities for others to advance in their lives and communities
Stewardship: All activities will be judged against our creation and stewardship of sustainable ecosystem services
