The Sustainable Land Trust are working with the National Forest and the Charnwood Forest Landscape Partnership to create exciting new ways for local people to help in conserving the Forest and its traditions. The Trust have been building up a profile of current activities, courses, outdoor learning, and skills with the aim of creating a picture of who uses the forest and linking these together to create an education and training plan for the next five years.
We have held consultations with artisans, groups schools, colleges and businesses to create a new forum and five year training plan that will engage with people and communities to develop skills and interests in protecting the natural and cultural history of Charnwood Forest. The training and education plan has now been created ready to be used by the partnership to support the creation of a regional country park.
Thank you to everyone involved, and we look forward to sharing the plan with you in the near future.
